DO's Photography Survival Guide
Submitted by admin on Thu, 28/02/2008 - 14:53.
So, you try to become an accomplished photographer. And that day comes where you are about to photograph this gorgeous model. You start the photoshoot but it doesn't go well. Many of the photos show up really badly. The model looks worse than ever!!!! What is going on?
Check out the following DO's(David Oster) Survival Guide To Photography:
1. Study the model's physiology
This means that you must stare at the model(not just looking) in order to get used to him/her. How it looks, what the best angles are.
2. Study the model's psychology
Open the channels for pure communication. This means that you must start to know each other. Find out about model's likes and dislikes, try to get through to the model that what you do is more fun than actually working. Make it look as a game.
3. Be always positive and fun to work with.
At the end of the day if the model is relaxed then your photos will capture the true looks of him/her. This is true even for professional models.
4. It is not a bad thing to ask from the model to stand on a stance (certain body position) for a few minutes.
Position the model as you feel like and try to get to take a stance that is natural to him/her. Otherwise it doesn't show up correctly. Don't be embarrassed to reposition the model if the stance does not quite look all right.
5. Doing a photoshoot always means : fun, fun and more fun
